Check these first

  • ✓ Check the Documentation — Most answers are already covered in our docs.
  • ✓ Check AI Provider settings — Is your API key valid? Does it have remaining credits?
  • ✓ Check source health indicators — A red indicator means the source URL is unreachable.
  • ✓ Check import logs — Go to WriteWP → Help → Import Logs for detailed error info.
  • ✓ Check system info — WriteWP → Help → System Info tab. Use the "Copy for Support" button and paste it in your email.
Troubleshooting

Common issues & fixes

01

API key not working

Make sure the key is correct and your account has credits remaining. Test the key with a simple API request outside of WriteWP to confirm it’s valid. If it works there but not in WriteWP, copy the exact error from Import Logs and contact support.

02

Import fails

Check the source health indicator — if it’s red, the source URL is unreachable. Verify the URL is correct and the source site is online. Also check Import Logs (WriteWP → Help → Import Logs) for the specific error message.

03

AI rewrite quality is poor

Try switching to a different AI model in your provider settings. Lower the temperature in Settings for more consistent output. Customize the rewrite prompt to better match your desired tone and style — the default prompt is intentionally generic.

04

Auto-schedule not running

WP-Cron may be disabled on your server — many hosts disable it by default. Check Settings → Automation and verify the schedule is enabled. If you use a server-side cron instead of WP-Cron, make sure it’s hitting the correct endpoint.

05

Content not SEO optimized

Make sure the SEO module is enabled in WriteWP settings. Add primary and secondary keywords to your content source. Verify the intent setting matches your content goals — "informational" content won’t rank for commercial queries and vice versa.
